Thanks for the podcast. My husband works for Children’s Services and I thought I might provide a little insight for other CM workers.

My rule of thumb is when in doubt, call it in. These workers see a lot and they have a pretty good method of telling which cases are legitimate or not. Let the big decisions rest on their shoulders. They also have a lot more resources at their disposal for finding out information. Just make sure you get the kids full name and address if you can, and what school they attend.

Also, Children’s Services is not out to take kids away. For the most part, they want to offer services to help families function better. I know sometimes people hesitate because they don’t want to break up the family, but that only happens in extreme cases.

    Hope it helps!

    Lindsey

I’m listening to your latest podcast, and thought I’d send you our Child Protection Policy. It is based on a template I received from George Krebs in our PennDel District Office – http://childrensministrytalk.com/files/CLC%20Child%20Protection%20Policy.pdf
