Having done musicals, often 2x a year, for the last 20+ years we love sharing our musicals with churches in our state. It has done so so much to excite kids to follow Jesus. It certainly has been one of the most memorable experience in most of our kids lives. Then I have to say that it sets kids up to launch out into drama and musicals later. Musicals certainly are BIG.
